The Unity of Houston Purpose statement describes who we are together: “In community, we nurture and empower each other, transforming our lives, that we may serve the world.”
When challenges to our health and wellbeing or that of our family members occurs, our spiritual community is a safe place of love and support.
We want to know when you are going through difficult times in your life so we can hold you in prayer and offer encouragement and support through the principles we teach and use in all of life’s challenges.
You need not face difficulties or fears alone.
We bring our statement of Belonging to life in difficult times, such as those you may be experiencing now:
“We create a spiritual home for all people, knowing that we are one body and that we belong to each other.”
Pastoral Care Program
Through our Pastoral Care program we offer prayer support and calls to check in on you throughout the challenge you are facing. Our support groups offer the experience, strength and encouragement that others who have been where you are now can offer to you in love and care.

If you have a prayer request or desire to speak with someone about a new diagnosis or ongoing health challenge for yourself or a person in your life, please call the church office at 713.782.4050 and leave a request for prayer or someone to return your call. Our ministers will hold you in prayer during their regular prayer time and our pastoral care team will reach out for ongoing support, if desired.
Unity Prayer Partners
Unity Prayer Partners are trained volunteers who serve our congregation as loving listeners who hold the space of possibility through prayer. A Unity Prayer Partner is available for one-on-one prayer, in Spanish or English, before or after Sunday services. Unity Prayer Partners wear badges with purple ribbon and are located in the Sanctuary, lobby, and courtyard on Sundays. You can also request a monthly phone call from a Prayer Partner.
