Sunday, July 23: “How to Navigate Dark Times”
Rev. Michael Gott
Jesus told his disciples, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” The metaphysics of this statement are profound. Being on a spiritual path does not exempt us from the problems and struggles of the human condition. But it also gives us the key to how we move through challenging times. The “I Am” presence within us is stronger and deeper than any condition. When we lean into our spiritual truth, we are given what we need to not only come through difficulty, but to emerge stronger and freer than before.
Parents: Please sign in your children in the sanctuary lobby on the 1st and 2nd Sundays of each month. On other Sundays, please sign them in at the Youth & Family Ministry building.
July Talk Series: “How-to Spirituality”
A great paradox of the spiritual life is that we are seeking to understand Infinite Reality, and it will always be greater than our human minds can hold. God is Mystery. And yet, we can grow in our understanding of spiritual principles and in our experience of the presence and power of God. And there are practical things we can do to deepen and expand our spiritual lives. For this series, Rev. Michael will offer practical, repeatable, useful actions and ideas that will move us forward on our path—every time! Our founders spoke of Unity as being “practical Christianity.” These teachings are not merely for contemplation. They are meant to be used!
