Sunday, December 12: “The Light in the Darkness”

One of the most powerful symbols of the Christmas Story is the star—a sign from heaven to guide the wise to the birth of the Christ. When we walk through times of darkness, individually or globally, we must direct our gaze to Divine Truth, and a light will always shine to guide us home.

On December 12, enjoy featured music by the Olde Boys, high school students who are part of the Houston Boychoir. Houston Boychoir is the oldest organization of its kind in Houston for boys and music. Since 1962 it has set the level of excellence for artistic achievement and educational outcomes, in children’s performing ensembles.
What began as a treble choir for the first 50 year became a three tiered program with the addition of the Olde Boys. Now in high school these young men meet weekly for music making and camaraderie. They have grown up together as brothers in song and are prepared to meet the challenges of advanced music making and performing.

The addition of the Olde Boys to Houston Boychoir’s cadre of performing ensembles allows the organization to sing music for trebles, music for men’s voices and mixed voice repertoire making this one of the most versatile choirs of its kind. As one of the country’s premier boychoirs, HBC serves as ambassadors, representing our city, state and nation during annual concert tours: across North America, throughout Europe, South Africa and Asia.

Currently under the direction of Dr. David York, The Olde Boys will be performing with the Houston Boychoir in their holiday concert on Saturday, December 18 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. Admission is free.

Masks required for balcony seating.

Our Sunday morning services are open for in-person attendance and they are livestreamed. They are our most well-attended services during the week. These services incorporate an uplifting music program, guided meditation and a positive, thought-provoking message delivered. Our Youth & Family Ministry is open, currently for children 18 months and older. For more information, visit https://unityhouston.org/family-children/youth/
