“There is Only One”
Rev. Michael Gott
Principle One
God is the source and creator: “There is only one presence and power (God), active everywhere, and God is good.”
Principle Two
We are inherently divine: “Human beings are spiritual beings, created in God’s image, with the spirit of God within, making us inherently good. ”
These first two principles point to our most important theological and philosophical understanding: Oneness. Our non-dual worldview means that Unity occupies a unique place in the household of Christianity. This way of understanding reality is usually associated with the Eastern traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism. So much of the teaching of Jesus aligns with this perspective: “It is not me that does the work, but the Father within” and “The kingdom of God is within you.”
When we live these principles, we know that we are infinitely loved and supported by Spirit. And we see others differently. In truth, they are no longer “other.” They reflect back to us the face of God.
Parents: Please sign your kids in at their classrooms, and then take them to Wallet Hall for Pre-session activities from 10:30 – 11:00.
