Sunday, January 8: “There Is Only One”
Our name, Unity, is also our most profound truth and our most important theological statement. There is only one power and presence–infinite, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent. How does this concept of oneness shape our lives and our relationship with the world? It can be a source of great peace and great possibility if we are willing to live from this reality.
January Talk Series: Living Unity – Exploring Our Foundational Principles
A five-part Sunday Series, January 8 – February 5
The founding teachers in our movement studied the great traditions and the scriptures, searching for the “golden thread” of truth. The deep mysteries of spiritual transformation are woven into every word written and spoken from the very beginning of Unity. And yet it has always been a practical spirituality, not shrouded in obscure symbols or concepts, but rather stated clearly in powerful and direct language. In the 1980s Rev. Connie Fillmore Bazzie, the great-granddaughter of Myrtle and Charles Fillmore, distilled the essence of our teaching into five core concepts. As we begin 2023, Rev. Michael will take us “back to basics” and teach from these principles that reflect the deepest truths from our Unity tradition that remain as useful and applicable to our lives as they have ever been.
Masks are optional on the lower floor. Masks required for balcony seating.
