“Remembering Our Original Innocence”
Rev. Michael Gott
Week 2 Affirmation: I am pure, whole, and worthy, just as I was created to be.
Many of us grew up in dualistic religious traditions that emphasized rules and adherence to cultural purity standards. In Unity, we have rejected the doctrine of original sin and we teach “original blessing.” Rather than following a list of human rules, we seek to recover and reveal our truest nature as expressions of the Divine. Any behavior that harms ourselves or others is coming from a false belief. When we release the error thought, what is revealed is our authentic self, fully aligned with God’s purpose for our lives. Living this way heals us of an unnecessary experience of guilt and shame, and we can reclaim our true innocence.
Parents/Guardians: Please sign your kids into the classroom from 10:45 am – 11:05 am. Teachers begin their class at 11:05 am, and it can be disruptive to the class if students enter after that time.
