On Tuesday evening\, November 11\, 2025 – in honor of Compassion Week 2025 – Unity Fine Arts welcomes guest poets Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer and James Crews\, to join Senior Minister Rev. Michael Gott\, Director of Music and Fine Arts Kenneth Gayle\, and songwriter/pianist Gary Norian for a collaborative conversation\, experience and exploration of the art of language.  \n\n\n\nUnity Fine Arts\, generously underwritten by the Bosarge Family Foundation\, has been established to foster collaborations exploring the interfaces between the fields of Music\, Science\, Spirituality\, and Psychology. \n\n\n\nLove Offering \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nJames Crews is the author of Turning Toward Grief: Reflections on Life\, Loss & Appreciation\, and editor of several bestselling poetry anthologies\, including Love Is for All of Us\, a collection of LGBTQ+ love poems co-edited with his husband\, Brad Peacock. He has also edited The Wonder of Small Things (winner of the New England Book Award)\, The Path to Kindness (winner of the Nautilus Award)\, and How to Love the World\, which has sold over 100\,000 copies to date. He has been featured on NPR’s Morning Edition\, and in People Magazine\, The Boston Globe\, The New York Times Magazine\, The Sun Magazine\, and The Washington Post. James lives with his husband on forty rocky acres in Vermont that they are restoring to a habitat for pollinators and native species. jamescrews.net \n\n\n\n\n\nRosemerry Wahtola Trommer is a poet\, teacher\, speaker and writing facilitator who co-hosts Emerging Form\, a podcast on creative process. Her daily audio series\, The Poetic Path\, is on the Ritual app. Her poems have appeared on A Prairie Home Companion\, PBS News Hour\, O Magazine\, Washington Post’s Book Club\, and Carnegie Hall stage. Her recent collections are All the Honey and The Unfolding. In 2024\, she became poet laureate for Evermore\, helping others explore grief and love through poetry. This has been a time of personal and spiritual challenge. As humans\, we need meaning; we need a narrative that helps us make sense of what we are enduring. These two sessions will provide options for possible narratives that might help frame meaning without doing a spiritual bypass or ignoring the pain. Tran Carapucci\, M.D.\, M.B.A.\, F.A.C.E.P.\, is a board-certified emergency physician and health policy leader with over 10 years of clinical experience. Dr. Tran previously served as Associate Vice President for Clinical Population Health and Advocacy at UTHealth Houston\, Assistant Dean at the UTHealth School of Public Health and Director of Strategic Initiatives for Harris Health’s award-winning Multi-Visit Patient Program. \nHer leadership has influenced state and federal legislation\, educational reform and innovative public health initiatives. She holds an M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine\, an M.B.A. from Rice University and completed her emergency medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic. SUMMARY:From Breath to Breath: Celebrating Life and Death
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Sarah Gish \n\n\n\nSuggested Love Offering $10 at the door \n\n\n\nJoin us for a special event in the Unity Pyramid created by artist Sarah Gish\, whose show is currently on view in the Unity Art Gallery. \n\n\n\nThis community celebration of life and death provides space for deep contemplation\, connection with others\, self-caring\, and joyful living. The gathering includes music\, activities\, a labyrinth walk\, meditation\, energy healing\, poetry\, and art. \n\n\n\nThe facilitated World Labyrinth Day Walk for Healing Broken Hearts begins at 1 pm. The Last Breath discussion includes a death doula\, a funeral home director\, a medium\, and a grief counselor. \n\n\n\nIn addition to the scheduled events\, self-guided activities will include art- making inspired by Val Kilmer (one of the subjects in the show)\, prompts from quotes for paired discussions\, hand-held labyrinths for finger walking\, writing your life story and more. The labyrinth will be available for self-guided walking all afternoon. \n\n\n\nIn addition\, a massage therapist\, Reiki Master\, and energy healer will be on hand for celebrating life.
