Our service project is focused on making sure every child goes home with a book. We can use your help as we expect approximately 500 children to attend Trunk ‘n Treat. Please drop off any books you can donate by Sunday\, October 12 in the Sanctuary lobby or in the bookstore. Join us on Saturday\, October 18\, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm to sort the books by English/Spanish and age categories. Sorting books will take place in the Sanctuary lobby. Together\, we’ll engage in reflective practices that reconnect us with our own healing nature and the wisdom of our ancestors. This gathering offers a sacred space for restoration\, reflection\, and shared healing—you won’t want to miss it. \n\n\n\nAbout Rev. Ann Kathryn Bass-Lister Rev. Ann Kathryn Bass-Lister is an ordained minister\, hospice chaplain\, author\, and spiritual mentor. After earning her BA from Spelman College and a Master of Divinity from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology\, she followed a nontraditional path to ministry\, serving in chaplaincy\, spiritual direction\, and community outreach. Her work has included supporting women in shelters\, addiction recovery programs\, and families impacted by incarceration. Ordained at The Hillside International Truth Center in 2019\, Rev. Ann is committed to helping women heal “mother wounds\,” reconnect with their ancestral wisdom\, and live authentically. This is not blame work. It is liberation work. DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Sarah Gish \n\n\n\nJoin igniter\, connector\, teacher\, and artist Sarah Gish (www.IgniteYourOwnLife.com) as she encourages fun & creative explorations of our life and our death. This talk will be in the Art Gallery so that attendees can see her FotoFest (www.FotoFest.org) show\, IGNITE YOUR LIFE! Honoring the Deceased. We’ll talk about ways that people prepare for death\, as well as how we envision our own death. We’ll also chat about how we ignite our lives\, what we want to be remembered for\, what words describe us. It will be a joyful celebration of something we all do: LIVE and DIE! If you wish: please bring or wear something that connects you to an ancestor (i.e. mother’s scarf\, dad’s hat\, etc.) as well as photos of loved ones (humans and pets) who have passed\, which will be added to Sarah’s MEMENTO Photo-line that is part of her exhibition\, on view through May 3. \n\n\n\nRegister here.
