Realizing Your Divine Powers Summer Series:
The Power of Love
Our power of Love is so all-encompassing, it undergirds all the other divine powers we access. Love is defined as the very nature of the Divine. We will explore our Power of Love as an expression of devotion and intimate connection with the divinity within us. We will take part in a Kirtan experience of sacred chant, music and holy silence that will open our hearts and connect us all in a powerful way.
Sacred Chant Kirtan with Sat Purkh and Abhai Raj
Accompanied by Tabla player, Alaap Parikh
Sacred chant is an integral part of many spiritual paths around the world. Open your heart to this vibration as Sat Purkh and Abhai Raj lead us in this Kirtan experience. Learn how mantra and the “sound current” aligns us with wholeness and our inner Divinity. Relax into this sound immersion and re-connect with who you really are, as you listen and chant with our special guest musicians.
A KRI Certified Level Three Kundalini Yoga Teacher as well as Lead Trainer in the Aquarian Trainer Academy, Sat Purkh is known for her work in Sound & Mantra as well as Humanology and the Women’s Teachings; in 2008 she authored Everyday Grace: The Art of Being a Woman, an introduction to the Women’s Teachings of Yogi Bhajan. Sat Purkh conducts Kundalini Yoga teacher training in countries around the world, and trained Unity of Houston’s own resident Kundalini Yoga teacher. Sat Purkh joined the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) in 2006 and served as the Creative Director until the fall of 2013. A member of the Teacher Training Executive Council, she serves in developing the Three Levels of Teacher Training in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®, and also served on the KRI Board of Directors from 2014-2017. She has eight albums of sacred music, Nectar of the Name, Beautiful Day: The Aquarian Sadhana, Queen Be: The Goddess Within, Love & Other Miracles, One: Love, Life, Light, The Pearl: Maiden, Mother, Crone, The Guru Within, and Across the World Ocean.
Abhai Raj has practiced yoga and meditation since 2004. He is a KRI Level I instructor. His primary meditation practice is Kriya Yoga as taught through the lineage of Mahavatar Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya, Swami Sri Yukteswar, and Paramahansa Yogananda. He states that he is forever indebted to his meditation teachers for their instruction and guidance, and has no doubt this practice gives expanded consciousness and leads to liberation. In 2011 he had a profound meditation that included a clear vision – He was to serve and protect a noble woman. Shortly thereafter, he met Sat Purkh and they began courting. They married within the year. Abhai Raj shares, “There’s no greater joy for me than to support her music and teaching of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®.” Abhai Raj served as an Army Ranger and worked as an Outward Bound Instructor and as a software developer for IBM. He is currently the lead software architect for The Yogi Bhajan Library of Teachings® online.
