August Series: “Recovery and Restoration”
Life doesn’t always follow the plans that we have laid out. We sometimes find ourselves in surprising and difficult times in our lives. Experiences we didn’t want or ask for. We can lose hope. Though not everyone experiences addiction and recovery, the teachings of recovery are beneficial and universal. For these five weeks, we will explore how we can all recover from life’s setbacks and be restored to joy and wholeness in every aspect of our lives.
August 11: “The Truth About Addiction”
Statistics say that one out of two Americans experiences alcoholism in their immediate family. Not to mention tobacco, overeating, sex and relationship addictions, drugs, spending and debt… It’s safe to say that all of us are touched by addiction in some way. What does Unity teach about this seeming epidemic? What are the spiritual answers? Rev. Michael will share from his personal story as well as the collective spiritual wisdom of our traditions and communities to point us to the way of recovery and restoration. There is hope.
