April Talk Series: The Revealing Word
Our Sunday Series for April is The Revealing Word. We will be studying this classic work of metaphysical Bible interpretation by Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore. Each Sunday this month, Rev. Michael will explore a topic from Fillmore’s beloved book and seek to apply it to our present-day circumstances. The text of the Hebrew and Christian scriptures was not a fixed, or immovable thing for Charles Fillmore. He saw life and power beneath the literal meaning of the stories and the teachings. For him, the Bible was a doorway to the eternal and unchanging spiritual truths expressed in all the great teachings. Our work as Unity truth students is not to interpret the sacred books to prove our point of view to others, but rather to light the path to our own healing and becoming.
Sunday, April 18: “The I Am—Who Do You Think You Are?”
Charles Fillmore defines The I Am as “the name of the spiritual self.” We carry so many names and identities—parent, spouse, friend, and more. So much of our understanding of our self is in relation to other people. The power of placing our identity in The I Am is that it restores us to our true and loving self—the part of us that has never known struggle or illness, that requires no approval or recognition by anyone but God. When we reconnect to the truth our spiritual nature, our lives become richer, fuller, freer. We live life abundantly!
RSVPs open at noon one week in advance.
