Patriarchy represents an oppressive masculine energy in human cultures. It has historically subjugated women and minorities in ways that are damaging to all. Men have also been hurt by the old patriarchal system. But there is a healthy, life-affirming, empowering masculine energy, too. This Father’s Day, let us honor the ways in which our own dads helped us become our best, while we seek to empower a new and healthy vision of masculine energy on earth.
