Sunday, May 21: “Bring Forth What Is Within You”
Rev. Jeanmarie Eck
Our emotional life is an important spiritual tool for understanding ourselves and our life’s journey. We may find ourselves resisting or suppressing our emotions in a desire to be “more spiritual” or to feel more in control of our lives. However once we begin to bring them forward and allow them to speak, we can work with them on another level. Exploring our emotions through a spiritual lens reveals a deeper meaning and greater possibilities for healing and emotional freedom.
May Sunday Talk Theme: “Spiritual Double Vision–To Honor the Human Condition, While Grounded in the Spiritual Truth”
The mark of genius is to hold contradictory truths in mind at the same time. To live a human life on a spiritual basis will necessarily present us with many paradoxes. We are both eternal and mortal, limited and limitless. If we are willing to stretch our consciousness, we will learn that the paradox is not to be avoided, but rather to be explored as a path of our healing and growth. We will no longer have to hold our humanity and divinity as separate. We are divinely human, and humanly divine.
