We are celebrating the 100th anniversary of our spiritual community.

In 1919 a new couple in the Heights. Unity practitioners Charles and Bertha Miller moved from Hiawatha, Kansas, to the Houston Heights.Bertha started a group to study the Fillmores’ teachings in their bungalow on Rutland Street. In the years following, the congregation would outgrow their homes in The Heights and Montrose and on Hillcroft before settling into our new beautiful location featuring the Golden Pyramid in 1972.

The world has changed quite a bit in the last 100 years, and Unity Houston has been on the forefront of that change.  Among the first to ordain female ministers, and instrumental in the election of Kathy Whitmire, Houston’s first female mayor– Unity Houston has strived to be a beacon of light for the city.  Who knows what the next 100 years have in store for our congregation, for our city, or for our nation. But Unity of Houston will continue to stand strong. We will continue to be both a respite from the world, and a helping hand to its inhabitants.

What a special year, and a special time to honor all those who made Unity of Houston what it is today, and to celebrate all there is to come!
