If you've wanted to know more about the Bible but didn't really know where to start, this class is for you! If you've wondered how something written so long ago can truly relate to the challenges of your life today, this class is also for you! And if you want to study the Bible with an instructor who is passionate about it, by all means sign up for this class. Each lesson will include social background and historical overviews, why the books were written, scripture lesson, and the relevance to our own lives. Do you know the 3 words that describe the message in Deuteronomy through 2nd Kings? And who is considered to be the most important person in the Old Testament? It matters. -

Whether you are new to Unity or not, you may be wondering what we mean when we use the term, "metaphysics" or when we interpret the Bible "metaphysically." This class is designed to assist you in discovering what the study of metaphysics is (from Unity's perspective), what value it has in applying the Bible's wisdom to YOUR life, and to understanding the fundamental concepts inherent in Unity's five basic principles. Explore the ideas and events that led to the emergence of Christian Science, the New Thought tradition, and Unity. Students will gain a greater understanding of the similarities and differences among these traditions. -
NON-CREDIT CLASS - EVEN MYSTICS HAVE BILLS TO PAY, MONDAYS, 8 SEPTEMBER - 6 OCTOBER, 2008, 7-9 p.m., Chapel, Cora Alexander, Candidate for L.U.T., Instructor. Required text: Even Mystics have Bills to Pay by Jim Rosemergy. Please read the first two chapters prior to the first class.
The Rev. Jim Rosemergy, author and Unity minister, encourages us to balance our spiritual lives and earthly living. This five-week class will explore the basic foundation of prosperity, seeing earthly matters from a higher point of view, having our needs met without making the reason for our existence and expanding our prosperity vision for the world.
Note: Students who pre-register for S.E.E. classes (by calling the church office or by signing up at a courtyard table before date class begins) may qualify for a 10% discount on all REQUIRED class books purchased in our bookstore. (Ask for details in the bookstore.)
*Denotes S.E.E. classes required to complete the Unity Spiritual Development Certification. Completion of this certification supports individuals who want to deepen their own spirituality by studying all or a portion of a prescribed curriculum of 25 classes. The full course of study is offered on an ongoing basis, over an approximate 2-year period on our campus, as well as at Unity Institute near Kansas City, Missouri. Courses are open to all students and are taught locally by our ministers or Licensed Unity Teachers. The class is studying various books or selections from the Bible as chosen by each individual facilitator. The intention is for each facilitator to present something he or she is particularly interested in. Students are always encouraged to make suggestions of topics they would like to cover, as well.
